Because my time has no value, I spent today putting together a chart of what year each laureate was born. It is not a very good chart, and I really wish I could fix it. I was just curious to see how age and award year were linked. There was definitely a decade or so where everyone who won the Nobel was born in the 1880s. Every one. Halldor Laxness, laureate in 1955, was the first laureate born in the 20th century. Mo Yan is the most recently born laureate, if not necessarily the youngest.
